How is the Coronavirus Affecting My Local Podiatrist?
The team at Westfield Foot and Ankle, LLC, is paying close attention to updates about the coronavirus and is working diligently to continue providing a safe, clean environment to meet your foot and ankle care needs. To avoid any confusion about our cancellation or rescheduling policies as well as which symptoms should be quickly addressed, here are some answers to frequently asked questions.
Are you open? If so, are people rescheduling their appointments?
Yes, as of March 18, 2020, we are open and operating under a normal schedule. If we have scheduled you for an upcoming surgery, please continue to make preparations. We ask that you reschedule your appointment if you are experiencing any acute respiratory symptoms, such as a cough, a fever, or difficulty breathing. Instead, please contact your primary care physician. If you have knowingly been around someone with the coronavirus or have recently traveled to a level 2 or 3 country within the past three weeks, we also ask that you reschedule your appointment.
I have an appointment. Is your office prepared?
We appreciate your trust and value that you are keeping your scheduled appointment. You can be reassured that our office is prepared. We have always maintained high standards for a clean, safe environment for our staff and patients. We are taking precautions and continue to thoroughly wipe down each exam room between patient visits, clean our reception area and waiting rooms, and provide hand sanitizer for our patients at the welcome desk. Another part of keeping our office prepared is encouraging patients to stay home if they do not feel well.
I’m feeling well, but I’m not comfortable going out right now.
We understand if you are hesitant about leaving your home and venturing out. If you feel that you are able to reschedule your appointment without staying in pain or ignoring signs of an infection, please do so. We will not charge any late cancellation fees.
